pcp Energy Transition

Energy Transition

As the energy industry transitions to a low emission future, PCP have the tools and experience to provide accurate project cost estimates across the whole new energy market.

Carbon Capture & Sequestration

Carbon Capture & Sequestration

We have extensive experience on Carbon Capture & Sequestration projects, from early phase conceptual estimates through FEED to detailed construction estimates.

Our work has covered all aspects of the CC chain, including:

  • Amine, Membrane and Cryogenic CO2 Capture

  • CO2 Compression & Pipelines

  • CO2 Liquefaction and Ship/ Truck Transportation

Wind / Renewables

Wind / Renewables

PCP have worked with a number of clients developing CAPEX estimates for renewable energy including:

  • Onshore and Offshore Wind

  • Solar

  • Biomass

Our estimating capabilities also include the infrastructure that supports these facilities such as Electrical Hi-Lines, Substations and Swithchyards.

Hydrogen / Ammonia

Hydrogen / Ammonia

PCP work with clients at the forefront of enabling the Hydrogen Economy. We help them to connect the dots between conceptual and novel technologies with more conventional transmission concepts.

Hydrogen - Our databases include Steam Reforming and Electrolysis Hydrogen production technologies, which depending on the source of the combustables are the primary sources of the Green, Blue, Black and Grey Hydrogen on the market today.

Type
Production Method
Black Hydrogen
Steam reforming hydrocarbons creates CO2 and H2
Grey Hydrogen
H2 generated from steam reforming of natural gas
Brown Hydrogen
H2 generated from steam reforming of lignite coal
Green Hydrogen
Produced using zero carbon electricity (Split water to O2 and H2)
Blue Hydrogen
Grey/Black with carbon capture

Ammonia - Meeting the challenges of Hydrogen transportation requires some alternative approaches. Conversion of Hydrogen to ammonia allows transportation of a high-density hydrogen-rich liquid for optimum efficiency. PCP have supported clients investigating the viability of ammonia transportation, including Ammonia production, Ship loading/unloading, Pipelines, and conversion back to hydrogen for use.
